Three Turning Points

turbocharger
From around 1990, Yamato's business deteriorated because the exterior market had peaked and the economic bubble had collapsed.
1989: The company made a large investment to start APK line plan, aiming at reviving the cast iron department that was in decline at the time.
1991: Company name changed from Yamato Seisakusho Co., Ltd. to Yamato Intec Corporation.
1993: APK line was completed.
1997: Over-investment and lease payments forced Yamato to change its course of action.
1999: The company reexamined its area of specialty, and decided to focus on exhaust manifolds and turbocharger parts. The former had been one of its major products and the latter was a new challenging area. The company's business performance recovered.
2003: Yamato started to achieve 15% or more annual growth.
