Bursting bubble and peaking exterior market led Yamato to specialize in turbocharger parts

From around 1990, Yamato's business deteriorated because the exterior market had peaked and the economic bubble had collapsed.
1989: The company made a large investment to start APK line plan, aiming at reviving the cast iron department that was in decline at the time.

1991: Company name changed from Yamato Seisakusho Co., Ltd. to Yamato Intec Corporation.

1993: APK line was completed.

1997: Over-investment and lease payments forced Yamato to change its course of action.

1999: The company reexamined its area of specialty, and decided to focus on exhaust manifolds and turbocharger parts. The former had been one of its major products and the latter was a new challenging area. The company's business performance recovered.

2003: Yamato started to achieve 15% or more annual growth.
